sweeter than candy

Today Boston turns three years old. Yesterday his nursery teacher left a bag of goodies for him on our doorstep, mini Reese's peanut butter cups and some Sweetarts sour gummy bunnies. He didn't care much for the bunnies but he loved the container for the Reese's, an Easter chick stuck in the top of a small plastic tube.

Just now, Boston brought me the container and pulled out a peanut butter cup. "Here, Mommy," he said. "You can have this if you want. It's pink, like your shoes!" I stared at the cup in my hand. I wasn't sure what to say. "...This is your birthday candy and it's for you! Are you sure I can have this?" He grinned and rested the tube of candy on his shoulder. "I want to share. You can have it if you want. I love you!"

It's his birthday and he gave me a present.

I almost cried. That's the best peanut butter cup I ever ate.

  2. So sweet. He is a special kid, for sure. (That's because he is being raised by such a great mommy & daddy!) Happy birthday to you, Boston!
