thanks for party rockin'

There was partying, and rocking, and lots of food and cake. Boston turned two yesterday!

Theme: Balloons and Fun
Colors: Rainbow

It's like the day after Christmas at our house today. Boston spent the better part of the morning running back and forth between his new toys, a baseball with bat and ball in the living room and the basketball hoop (or "poop", if you ask him) in his room. Every once in awhile I'll hear a thump in his room as he tosses the basketball at the hoop and runs back to where I am to announce what he's done. "Boston, basketball, poop?" he'll say. And when I acknowledge it he squeals out a cheer ("Yeaaah!").

Seeing his enthusiasm for trying new things makes me feel the same joy I felt for those things when I was a kid. We celebrated his birthday yesterday with our families with good food and balloons all over the place.

We even had a dance party to Boston's favorite song, "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO. He did all the dancing. That kid has no fear.

My awesome neighbor Melissa Smith has this super ability of cake decorating and donated a birthday cake to our relief society service auction this year. I jumped on it (the opportunity, not the cake) because I got it last year and already know she makes a great cake.

In line with our balloon theme, here it is. Pinterest is my new favorite place for inspiration.

Now that he's two the hourly rate of day care goes down. Conversely, we now have to buy him a ticket to a baseball game. I wish it made sense to me how it costs less to have someone watch him than for us to watch him ourselves in a public place.

Boston is the coolest two-year-old I know. He loves to play, he loves to try new things, and he loves to share all his discoveries about the world with everyone everywhere. My favorite thing about him? He belongs to us.

Happy Birthday, Boston!

  1. There is no doubt in my mind, that a child is perhaps the most precious gift ever! ( Along with a wonderful, and caring spouse.) Bless the children and bless your house. Loving you Aunt Yvonne
