Perinatologist. He smelled like coffee and had fluffy brown hair, but he knew what he was talking about when it came to birth defects. Our baby has none the doctor could see.
And I wasn't really worried. When I went to the hospital for a high tech ultrasound, all I felt was excitement to see my baby again. His little hands, that brilliant spine, and his cute little feet! I hadn't clearly seen his feet on the screen before today, but there they were! He even flexed his toes for me. It made me giggle with joy. I also got to see his face. The shape of his nose, his round eyes, and his cute little lips! He opened and closed his mouth like a little fish in a way that even made the technician smile. What a fun morning.
