Danny works with someone who just moved to Daybreak, and with all the talk of "my house" this and "the beach" that and "the playgrounds and fields" everywhere, our interest was peaked. So Danny and I drove down to Daybreak to glance at the neighborhood a little. And wouldn't you know it--they really DO have a lake! There is grass everywhere, playgrounds on every corner, and a beach!
The drawback: the houses are all smooshed together, and there is little to no yard space (because it is all part of the community, rather than part of personal property). It made me think of bees in a hive...but it was still beautiful.
Of course, they did just have a temple built right in their little neighborhood. You're driving along, feeling a little cramped but in awe of how many properties fit in this out-of-the-way town, and BOOM!
--There's the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. If the air is clear enough you can see the new Draper temple in the distance. This is a smaller temple, but it is quite beautiful. The open house is ending soon (if it hasn't already), but we were able to go.
The dedication is scheduled toward the end of this month. (August already! Woo hoo!)
